Reports in the United States, say the stabbing death of a Jamaican-born pregnant woman in New York yesterday, has been linked with convicted Jamaican-born sniper, Lee Boyd Malvo.
Thirty-eight year-old Vindalee Smith, was found stabbed to death and with her throat slashed in her Brooklyn apartment on Saturday.
NBC reports that investigators found a note left by the killer on Ms. Smith's body, which threatened that more pregnant women would be killed if Lee Boyd Malvo is not released from prison.
But detectives in the case say the message may be a diversion attempt, and that there's no indication that the woman had any connection with the sniper.
Twenty-seven year-old Malvo is serving life in prison for six of the 10 sniper attacks that hit the United States in 2002.
Ms. Smith was eight months pregnant, and was also the mother of four children.
Her unborn child did not survive.
Police say investigations are underway to identify a suspect in her killing.
