Chief Executive Officer of the Jamaica Observer Limited,
Edward Khoury has been elected Chairman of the Media Association of Jamaica (MAJ).
He was elected at the organisation's Annual General Meeting Wednesday.
Mr. Khoury takes over the chairmanship from Dr. David McBean of the CVM Communications Group, who did not seek re-election.
Other members elected to the Executive Committee were First Deputy Chairman, Gary Allen; Second Deputy Chairman, Dr. McBean; Ladianne Wade, who is the Secretary and Hyacinth Anderson, who is the Treasurer.
Other members of the executive are Lester Spaulding, Kay Osborne, Newton James, Brian Schmidt, Alston Stewart, Winston Ridgard, Karin Cooper and Christine King.
The new Executive Committee will be in place for one year.
