Jamaican-born rapper Bushwick Bill dies, aged 52

Jamaica-born rapper Bushwick Bill, a member of the veteran Houston rap trio Geto Boys, has died at the age of 52.

The rapper, born Richard Shaw, revealed last month that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in February.

Shaw, who was born with dwarfism, first performed under the moniker Little Billy

He joined the Geto Boys in 1986, after performing as the group's dancer.

Geto Boys had their biggest chart success in 1996 with the album The Resurrection, which reached number 6 in the US charts, while in 1999, they earned a new audience through prominent use of their songs in the cult film comedy Office Space.

Bill was said to be working on three albums, which he hoped would generate residual income for survivors of and create awareness about pancreatic cancer.
