Travel to Jamaica from India and Trinidad & Tobago has been banned effective today.
The measure was announced in Parliament on Tuesday by Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
India is currently in the grips of a deadly wave of COVID-19 while Trinidad & Tobago is also grappling with an increase in cases and has reported the presence of the Brazilian variant in the twin-island republic
The ban on travel from Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Argentina and Paraguay remains in effect, but the travel ban for the UK has not been renewed.
