Seventy nine year old janitor, Arthur Williams, of Keaton Lane in St. James,
was mowed down by a taxi in Montego Bay, on Monday
January 28.
The police report that the taxi was traveling along Creek Street towards Mount Salem, when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
It swerved and hit Mr. Williams, who was riding a bicycle, before crashing into a light pole and overturning.
Mr. Williams received multiple head injuries and was pronounced dead at hospital.
Two passengers in the car were also treated at hospital.
The taxi driver fled the scene and is being sought by the Montego Bay police.
This is the third road fatality recorded in the parish since the start of the year.
