JLP to seek audience with unattached voters

 

Prime Minister and leader of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), Dr. Andrew Holness, says the party will be seeking audience with unattached voters in the coming days. 

 

This comes as the party ramps up its election campaigning efforts. 

 

Addressing party supporters at the JLP's St. Ann South East constituency conference on Sunday, Dr. Holness said their feedback in holding him to account has been helpful in his approach to people with no political affiliation. 

 

"They want to hear about performance, and so we have another exercise that is coming where we will be going around, not just meeting with our workers but meeting with ordinary Jamaicans to engage them, because a lot of them look on on politics with a great distaste. They feel politics, you know, it's not the best thing to be involved in; there's something wrong and negative, you know, about politics. But the worst thing is that there are a lot of Jamaicans who feel that politics is ineffectual," he lamented. 

 

He has signalled that Jamaicans will be heading to the parliamentary polls soon.
