The Jamaica Labour Party's Andrea Patience was declared winner of the Llandewey seat in the St. Thomas Municipal Corporation following a magisterial recount in the St Thomas Parish Court on Tuesday, defeating the PNP's Edwin Marr by eight votes.
Ms Patience polled a total of 1,325 votes to Mr Marr's 1,317.
Following the final results, the jubilant JLP supporters paraded with a coffin bearing an effigy of Edwin Marr while the few remaining PNP supporters quickly left the scene.
Ms Patience says she was pleased with the outcome.
She will be sworn-in along with five other JLP and four PNP Councilor candidates during a ceremony on Thursday.
