Member of Parliament for St. Thomas Western James Robertson has confirmed that the dispute between Jamaica Labour Party candidate for the Trinityville Division, Dean Jones, and businessman Wayne Walker has been resolved.
A picture with the two men shaking hands alongside Mr. Robertson and two other men has been making the rounds on social media.
Speaking with Radio Jamaica News on Monday morning, the Member of Parliament suggested that it is not clear what led to the February 5 fight between Mr. Jones and Mr. Walker, which was caught on camera.
"Whatever could possibly have taken place, if it did, it depends on who saw what. I can only tell you that the Walkers and I have been friends. Mr. Jones, Dean Jones, has met with Mr. Walker and his family, up to this Sunday afternoon, as you can see in the picture. And we go forward in St. Thomas, in a very mature political manner," he declared.
In the viral video, Mr. Jones could be seen brandishing his licensed firearm during the altercation.
The St. Thomas police say they are continuing their investigation into the incident.
