The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) says it will be dealing with the grouses of residents of Seaview Gardens in Kingston on a case by case basis.
The residents took to the streets of their community for a second day to protest over what they say are exorbitant electricity bills.
Winsome Callum, Corporate Communications Manager for JPS, says some residents have come in to query the bills while others have made arrangements to pay.
She added that investigation is being done on some of the cases.
"We have been investigating claims and there are a number of factors that we have identified. At the start of this process early this year, the JPS made the decision that we would give the residents of Seaview Gardens discounts on their bills. What has been happening is that many people have not been paying their bills at all despite the discount, so now that we have indicated to them that we will be disconnecting for non-payment, some have started to come in to make arrangements to pay while other have been protesting," Miss Callum said.
On Wednesday night, the residents mounted a protest at the entrance to the community and attempted to block sections of the road.
The police used tear gassed to subdue the residents.
