Attorney K.D. Knight has made an application for the presiding judge to recuse herself from the hearing of a contempt of court case against his client, Manchester based attorney Norman Godfrey.
Mr. Godfrey was cited for contempt of the court by High Court Judge Georgia Frazer, following a shouting match in court.
During Wednesday's trial, Mr. Knight accused the judge of blatant bias against Mr. Godfrey and asked her to recuse herself.
Mr. Knight argued that the transcript of the proceedings does not show that Mr. Godfrey raised his voice in court.
He also said there is no record of the judge repeatedly asking his client to take his seat.
Mr. Knight argued that it is wrong to use those reasons as a basis for his client to be cited for contempt of court.
He described the judge's action as unlawful and disdainful.
The presiding judge said she would not make a decision until the transcript used by Mr. Knight is authenticated.
She said the persons who prepared the transcript are overseas on vacation but would be back in the country for the next hearing.
The case will again be mentioned on January 21.
