The
Ministry of Labour is conducting an investigation into this week's dismissal of
more than 200 workers at Kingston Container Services.
The investigation comes following a meeting at the Ministry with some of the displaced workers.
The casual employees were advised earlier this week by the company that their services will be transferred to the Shipping Association of Jamaica effective next month.
On Thursday, the workers went on strike to protest against the dismissals.
