Attorney-at-law Christopher Townsend says a decision has not yet been taken on whether a lawsuit will be filed against the State and the Bustamante Hospital for Children over the controversial death of four-year-old Alexandrianna Jones at the facility.

The family of the child has hired Mr. Townsend to determine if there are grounds for legal action.

Mr. Townsend told Radio Jamaica News that his firm has initiated a fact-finding probe into the case.

"Well, our instruction is to fact find, to gather the information, and to see whether or not there is any cause of action. And if there is a cause of action, trust me, we'll be going full speed ahead. There will be no stones left unturned," he vowed.

Alexandrianna reportedly passed away from complications following a surgical procedure and her family has raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding her death.

The Bustamante Hospital for Children has launched an internal investigation to review the case.
