Retired Chief Justice, Lensley Wolfe, was on Wednesday confirmed as head of the Public Service Commission, PSC.
At Wednesday's Jamaica House media briefing, Information Minister, Sandrea Falconer, also listed the other members of the commission, and announced the heads of several boards of government bodies. The other members of the commission include former Financial Secretary Shirley Tyndale; former Permanent Secretary in the Labour Ministry, Anthony Irons and General Secretary of the Jamaica Baptist Union, Reverend Karl Johnson as well as UWI Professor Verene Shepherd.
The appointments took effect on February 24 under a three year contract. Miss Falconer also announced other board chairpersons. They include chairman of the Jamaica Business Development Corporation Doreen Frankson and Leon Gordon who will chair the North East Regional Health Authority. The Southern Regional Health Authority is to be chaired by Ray Bell; the Western Regional Health Authority by George Duncan and South East Regional Health Authority by Littleton "Tanny" Shirley. Sterling Suarez will chair the National Health Fund.
Former Peoples National Party Member of Parliament and government Minister Maxine Henry- Wilson is to chair the board of the Tourism Product Development Company while former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Jamaica, Colin Bullock is the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission board. Meanwhile also included on the list of board appointees is former Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Nova Scotia, William "Bill" Clarke who is to head the board of the Ex-Im Bank.
