Man accused of killing Security guard denied bail

The man accused of cutting the throat of a female Security Guard at her home in Cornwall Courts, St James two Fridays ago was remanded when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrates Court Thursday. 

The judge reportedly denied his bail application after he smiled during the reading of the allegations, which she described as appalling.                  

Charged with murder is Technician Jermaine Hayles, 31, of Rose Heights who was the victim's ex-boyfriend. 

Jeneive Nelson, 28, of both St Catherine and Cornwall Courts addresses was employed to Last Resort Security Company and had broken off the relationship shortly before her death.

Residents say they were alerted to Ms Nelson's home by her child.

When they went inside they saw Ms Nelson's body sprawled across the bed with the face bashed in and the throat slashed. 

The police saw no sign of forced entry and Mr. Hayles was immediately taken in for questioning and subsequently charged.

In court Thursday Mr. Hayles' attorney Natalie Messado made a bail application on the grounds that all the evidence is circumstantial.

 However the Resident Magistrate that Mr. Hayles be remanded and return to court on November 12.
