A man who was featured on the Jamaica Constabulary Force's Wanted list in 2022, is being held in Boston, United States, pending deportation.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement team arrested 30 year-old Leroy Neville White, otherwise called Kevin White, on December 26.
In January 2022, White was listed among 88 wanted men across the island.
The St James Police said White, who was number 17 on the list, was wanted for shooting with intent in relation to an incident on December 17, 2018, in York Bush, Mt Carey, St James.
White unlawfully entered the U.S. on July 11, 2022, and U.S. Border Patrol arrested him in California.
Border Patrol officials served him with a notice to appear and released him on an order of recognizance.
A Department of Justice immigration judge ordered White removed to Jamaica on April 12, 2023.
The New Haven Police Department in Connecticut arrested White on December 26, 2023, for first-degree threatening with hazard to terrorize, second-degree breach of peace, second-degree unlawful restraint and carrying a pistol without a permit.
Interpol issued a Red Notice for White on January 3, 2024, asking its global law enforcement partners to locate and arrest him.
The Connecticut Superior Court in New Haven convicted him of first-degree threatening and carrying a pistol without a permit on April 17.
Both convictions are felonies.
White will remain in ICE custody in Boston pending his removal from the United States.
