Recently elected government Members of Parliament, Marisa Dalrymple Philibert and Duane Smith, were sworn in Tuesday afternoon in the House of Representatives.
Mrs. Dalrymple Philibert, who was re-elected to serve as MP for Southern Trelawny in the November 30 by-election, was met with support from both sides of the political divide, including notable members of the parliamentary opposition - namely Leader of Opposition Business Phillip Paulwell, Natalie Neita Garvey and Mikael Phillips - after being sworn in.
The longtime MP and former House Speaker had resigned from representational politics after the Integrity Commission ruled that charges be laid against her in relation to her failure to declare ownership of a Mercedes Benz motorcar.
She is due to return to court on Friday, where a ruling on the matter is expected to be handed down.
Meanwhile, Mr. Smith replaces Dr. Nigel Clarke - former Finance Minister, now Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund - as the Member of Parliament for St. Andrew North Western.
