Firefighters are conducting cooling down operations after a massive blaze on King Street in downtown Kingston, which has left about 50 people are homeless.
The fire gutted several residential and commercial buildings, including a cook shop and a bar.
Sean Martin, Assistant Commissioner of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, said the firefighters faced several challenges while trying to combat the fire as the engulfed buildings were mostly aged and so were in danger of collapsing.
Five units battled the blaze.
