Jamaicans visiting Mexico no longer require visas.
The Embassy of Mexico in a release on Wednesday afternoon said the Mexican Government decided to waive the Visa/Consular Stamp requirement as of this month.
The change is applicable to Jamaicans travelling to that country as visitors, without authorization to engage in profitable activities, for up to 180 days.
This will allow Jamaicans to carry out activities in Mexico such as tourism, sports, business, medical treatments as well as attending conferences.
They will now only be required to present a valid Jamaican passport for travel.
The Mexican Embassy, in its release emphasised that, as is customary, at the time of admission, immigration authorities may request documents related to the purpose of travel.
Additionally individuals wishing to study for more than six months, establish temporary or permanent residence in Mexico, or engage in profitable activities should contact the Embassy to obtain requirements for a visa.
