JN Bank has announced that, effective July 28, it will discontinue issuing cheques denominated in pound sterling and the Canadian dollar drawn on Citibank's London branch.
JN says this is necessary because Citibank will no longer honour these cheques issued after July 28 and presented after October 14.
Meanwhile, JN says effective September 15, it will stop accepting all cheques in the pound sterling issued by foreign banks, but will continue to accept Canadian dollar cheques not drawn on Citibank's London branch.
JN will also continue accepting cheques issued by Jamaica-based banks in the pound sterling and the Canadian dollar.
