One day after the mother of 10-year-old Damain Findlay, reported him missing, his body was found in a water tank in Greenvale, Manchester.
The body of the Mandeville Primary and Junior High School student was found floating in the tank about 11 Sunday morning.
According to reports, Damiain's mother became suspicious when her son was not seen for hours and reported him missing to the Mandeville Police.
Residents of Greenvale along with relatives launched a search for him.
It was reported that his clothes were seen beside the tank in the community and after close inspection the residents saw his body in the tank.
The body was retrieved with the assistance of the fire bridage who were called to pump water from the tank.
The Manchester Police who are investigating say they are treating the incident as a case of drowning pending a postmortem report.
In the meantime, residents are calling for efforts to have the tank covered. For too long, gthey say they have been calling for something to be done to prevent persons from being tempted to swim in the abandoned tank.
