Radio Jamaica News has been informed that additional charges have been laid against two of the three policemen implicated in the shooting death of a man at the Mother's fast food restaurant in St. Ann, last month.
Constable Huwayne Ramsey has been charged with manslaughter following a ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions on Monday.
He is also charged with professing that he had a service pistol in his possession when the victim, 30-year-old Cajay Simms, was shot dead inside the restaurant on January 27.
Prosecutors accused him of failing to de-escalate the dispute inside the restaurant prior to Mr. Simms being fatally shot.
The second constable, Marcelo Carr, has been slapped with additional charges of fraudulent use of licence plate and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Prosecutors accused him of removing and hiding the licence plates of the get-away vehicle from the site of the shooting.
The third cop, Jamal Scott, was offered bail in the sum of $500,000 when he appeared in court on Tuesday.
Constables Carr and Ramsey were denied bail and remanded until March 19.
The five civilians charged in the case with the offence of misprison of felony, were released on bond.
The eight accused were charged following the fatal shooting of Mr. Simms during a brawl involving two groups of men at the fast food restaurant.
