Member of Parliament for Western St. Andrew Anthony Hylton is calling for the government to expand the physical structure of Edith Dalton James High School to better serve its growing population.
In his State of the Constituency Debate presentation in Parliament on Tuesday, Mr. Hylton said the Ministry of Education had responded positively to his proposal to include courses in Global Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
He said Edith Dalton James High is the only government-funded high school offering such courses.
According to Mr. Hylton, the move shows a commitment to transforming lives through education and training.
He also appealed to the government to pay greater attention to the environment surrounding schools.
MP Hylton said in many cases, sidewalks were nonexistent, in disrepair, or overtaken by vending.
