The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) has served enforcement notices on Central Wastewater Treatment Company and the National Water Commission (NWC) regarding the release of untreated sewage into the environment caused by a damaged sewerage network in Seaview Gardens, St. Andrew.
NEPA says it conducted a site visit and assessment on Tuesday.
It has ordered Central Wastewater Treatment Company, which operates the system, and the NWC to have the line repaired.
The public is being encouraged to take precautions and stay away from the area until the sewer line is repaired.
