Director of Protocol in
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sandra Grant Griffiths will take up the post
of Consul General for Miami
later this month.
Mrs. Grant Griffiths who is also Chief of Protocol for Jamaica will succeed Ricardo Allicock who is scheduled to return to the Ministry.
The new Consul General who has worked with the Foreign service since 1977 has done substantial work with the Jamaican Diaspora in the position of Director, Communication and Liaison.
Throughout her career she was also seconded to work as Project Co-ordinator for the West Indian Commission.
The Commission's findings reflected a cross section of views as to the way forward for the Caribbean Community, CARICOM.
As Consul General this will be Mrs. Grant Griffiths second posting having previously done a tour of duty at the Jamaican High Commission in Trinidad.
