New salaries announced for MPs

Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke has announced an increase in salaries for Members of Parliament and other members of the Executive.
 
Speaking in the House of Representatives Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Clarke said Cabinet ministers will receive salary increases at different ranges.
 
Cabinet ministers will receive compensation of $17.8 million per year as at April 1, 2022, $20.2 million as at April 1, 2023 and $22.8 million as at April 1 2024.
 
The Minister of Finance will receive compensation of $19.2 million as at April 1, 2022, $21.7 million as at April 2023 and $24.6 million per annum as at April, 2024.
 
Dr. Clarke also announced salary increases for the Deputy Prime Minister and the Prime Minister.
 
The Deputy Prime Minister will receive $20.1 million as at April 1, 2022, $22.7 million as at April 1, 2023 and $25.7 million as at April 2024. 
 
For the Prime Minister, the compensation package will be $22.3 million as at April 1, 2022, $25.3 million as at April 1, 2023 and $28.6 million as at April 1, 2024. 
 
Ministers of State will receive a salary of $14.3 million as at April 1, 2022, $16.2 million as at April 2023 and $18.3 million as at April 1, 2024.
 
The Speaker of the House will be compensated at the level of the Cabinet minister. 
 
The Parliamentary Secretary's salary will be $13.4 million, $15.2 million and $17.2 million, effective from April 1, 2022 to 2024. 
 
The Leader of the Opposition is compensated at the same level as the Deputy Prime Minister, while the Deputy Speaker will be compensated at the same level as the Parliamentary Secretary.
 
Members of Parliament will receive a salary of $11.1 million, $12.5 million and $14.2 million, effective from April 2022 to 2024.
