Neville Parry, a 37-year-old man accused of dousing two persons with a corrosive substance, was on Tuesday denied bail when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate Court.
Perry has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. He is of a Swallowfield address in St. Andrew.
Despite pleas from his attorney, Mr. Parry was ordered remanded until his next court date on March 26.
The allegations are that on August 27 last year, Mr. Parry went to the Portmore Plaza about 9.40 pm where he spotted the mother of his child in a parked taxi, speaking with the driver.
He allegedly walked up to the driver's door, opened a bottle and threw the corrosive substance into the vehicle.
The liquid caught the taxi driver and the woman. The taxi driver was admitted in hospital.
Mr. Parry reportedly fled but was later arrested.
