GraceKennedy concerned about proposed US tax on remittances

Chief Executive Officer of the Grace Kennedy Group Frank James says he is seriously concerned about the potential negative effects of the proposed five per cent tax on remittance flows being pursued by US House Republicans and President Donald Trump.

He says, while he cannot influence US fiscal and foreign policies, however, he will be taking steps to continue lowering the cost as well as to make it easier for Jamaicans and Caribbean nationals living in the US to send money back to Jamaica and the Caribbean via the company's GK One app service.

This service will be expanded to Cayman, Trinidad & Tobago, and Guyana this year.
