Wide scale job losses are not expected to emerge from this weekend's pullout by the Wyndham Hotel Group. Effective Saturday, July 13, Wyndham will remove its name from the 303 room hotel it operates on Knutsford Boulevard. Word coming out of a meeting Wednesday involving Wyndham officials and representatives of the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU) is that some of the workers will soon be re-engaged.
Several employees were sent home in March following a fire at the hotel. BITU Senior Negotiating Officer, Rudolph Thomas, told RJR News that the number of workers who will be brought back has not yet been determined.
