Radio Jamaica News understands that Norman Horne visited King's House Thursday morning.

It is believed that Mr. Horne was summoned to clarify issues relating to his appointment to the Senate and his US citizenship.

The People's National Party is awaiting a response from Mr. Horne by Friday as to whether he intends to take up the appointment and whether he has renounced his US citizenship.

A Jamaican, who has voluntarily acquired citizenship in a non-Commonwealth country, such as the US, is exempt from sitting in Parliament.

Time for court action?

Attorney Kenyatta Powell has suggested that judicial intervention has now become necessary in the controversy surrounding the Senate seat occupied by Mr. Horne.

Mr. Powell, who was speaking Wednesday night on TVJ's All Angles, argued that this is no longer an internal PNP issue, but one which has national implications.

"I don't think that we should go many more days with this issue of, 'Oh we're leaving this to internal wranglings within the People's National Party to sort out.' We are talking about one of 84 people in the entire Jamaica who are empowered under the constitution to make laws for this country. It must be a serious national issue," he contended.
