The National Works Agency (NWA) is conducting drainage improvement activities in the flood-prone area of Big Pond in Old Harbour, St. Catherine.
The works which commenced in January are scheduled to be completed by the end of this month.
NWA Communication Manager Stephen Shaw says the $21 million project is aimed at mitigating flooding.
Debris and soil build up are being removed to clear the drain.
Big Pond which is located along the main road from Old Harbour to Bartons, often becomes impassable during heavy rains.
