NWA Communication Manager Stephen Shaw

The National Works Agency says it will be ramping up road patching activities this year as it continues to rehabilitate roadways across the island.
Road patching started in some areas last year.
But NWA Communication Manager Stephen Shaw says the agency experienced challenges which slowed the process.
"One of the challenges that we would have had, that would have caused the slowing down of the process is the fact that we have to buy the asphaltic concrete mix from private sector companies and most...I think all of them have taken a holiday break. And so while we have gone out and we have prepared areas, we have not been able to close some of these areas or many of these areas because the asphaltic concrete mix is just not available," he advised.
Road patching is being done under the REACH programme.
