NWA to undertake work on Maxfield Avenue, Perkins Boulevard this weekend

By Kimone Witter

The National Works Agency (NWA) says motorists travelling on Upper Maxfield Avenue and Perkins Boulevard in St. Andrew this weekend should expect some delays as it will be undertaking improvement works.

Communication Manager at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says from Saturday to Sunday, deteriorated sections of both roadways will be removed.

The roads are to be repaved over the period.

The works are to be done between the traffic signals at the Balmoral Avenue/Maxfield Avenue intersection and the Hagley Park Road/Maxfield Avenue intersection.

The targeted section of Perkins Boulevard will be between Queen Hill and Coronada Avenue.

Motorists are being advised to obey the posted warning signs and instructions of flag persons.

The NWA says repaving works are being done as part of the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation's Maintenance of Secondary Main Roads 2022 Programme at a combined value of approximately $35 million.
