A former don turned state witness testified on Tuesday at the One Don Gang trial that incarcerated dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel ordered the killing of three people, including another artiste.
He said the order was given to the One Don Gang.
The former don, who is the prosecution's second witness, said two of the targets were killed in Waterford, St. Catherine and an attempt was made on the life of the unnamed entertainer.
He told the Home Circuit Court that Vybz Kartel gave the instruction via the telephone.
The witness made the revelation while giving evidence about one of the accused on trial, Jahzeal Blake.
He said Mr. Blake was the driver for the three hits.
Associates of entertainers
The witness told the court that on one occasion, the alleged leader of the One Don Gang, Andre "Blackman" Bryan, sent him to supervise one of Vybz Kartel's video shoots to ensure that it was properly done.
He said the shoot was done on McKinley Crescent in St. Andrew and was for the song Buck up Inna.
The Home Circuit Court heard that members of the One Don Gang were close associates of persons in the local entertainment sector.
The witness, who was giving details on how he met the alleged members of the gang who are on trial, told the court that he met one of the defendants - Fabian Johnson - between 2013 and 2014.
The witness said he, Andre Bryan and Mr. Johnson would frequently visit a recording studio - owned by popular entertainer I-Octane - where they would record music.
Earlier in the trial, the prosecution's first witness had also testified that the alleged gang members knew "powerful" people, including entertainers.
Built case against gang members
The witness who testified on Tuesday gave details on how he helped the police build their case against the One Don Gang by pretending to still be a member of the criminal network.
He said he also assisted the police in seizing two illegal firearms.
