PAC concerned about long delays in tabling of annual reports by state entities

PAC Member Peter Bunting and PAC Chairman Julian Robinson

The Public Accounts Committee of Parliament has raised concerns about the protracted delay in the tabling of annual reports by state entities.

A look at the website of the Office of the Cabinet has revealed that a number of agencies are not up to date with their annual report.

At Tuesday's meeting of the PAC, committee member Peter Bunting said the current situation is untenable and must be addressed.

PAC Chairman Julian Robinson noted that the same problem exists with the Appropriations Account.

He said some accounting officers refused to sign off on things for which they were not responsible.
