Passengers urged to retrieve items left behind in Portmore toll road crash

By Prince Moore

The police are appealing to persons who left their personal belongings at the scene of Thursday's bus crash along the Portmore toll road to collect their items at the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch in Kingston.

The police say the belongings left at the scene, including school bags, were secured.

More than 30 passengers, including several students, were injured in the crash.

Many of the passengers suffered broken limbs and other serious injuries when the Toyota Coaster bus veered left along a section of the toll road and went over into a ravine about 7 a.m.

The bus was travelling from Portmore to Kingston.

Videos of the incident showed injured passengers exiting the wreckage, while passing motorists came to their assistance.
