PICA pushes back implementation of new passport fees to June 1

The Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) announced a short while ago that the implementation date for increase in fees will take effect on Monday June  1, 2015, instead of next Tuesday May 26.

Jennifer McDonald, Chief Executive of Agency,  explaining the decision to delay implementation of the new fees, said it followed the overwhelming turnout of persons applying for passports before the increased fees take effect. She said PICA's offices will continue to process applications and every attempt will be made to process customers who are currently at its headquarters on Constant Spring Road in Kingston.

In related development, PICA has also announced that, effective next Tuesday May 26 through to Friday May 29, the agency will accept and process passport applications at the National Indoor Sports Centre, starting at 6:00 a.m. daily.
