Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness is warning that the Police High Command will not relent in its pursuit of the leaders of criminal gangs across the island.
More than one hundred suspects have been fatally shot in reported confrontation with the police since January.
The Prime Minister, speaking at a function in the constituency of St James East Central on the weekend, said the unrelenting pursuit of so-called "criminal dons" is bearing fruit with a significant reduction in the country's murder rate this year, "and I use this platform to say to all the criminals, all the people who consider themseles shotters, who believe that they can commit crimes and you won't be found out; we know you, we're going to find you!"
He declared confidently that the criminals "are getting the message," adding: "Every murder that is committed, we are going to find the person who pulled that trigger!"
Dr Holness added that the rise in crime has been affecting the tourism brand and robbing the country of much needed revenue.
