President of the People's National Party Mark Golding is set to lead the Party into the next General Elections.
Mr Golding was unanimously ratified for a third consecutive term on day one of the PNP's 85th Anniversary National Conference.
According to the PNP, a change in the Constitution in July mandated a two-year term of office for the President and Vice Presidents.
Additionally, a resolution was moved which prohibits a leadership contest the year before a general election is constitutionally due.
The PNP's Private Session continues today, with the conference culminating Sunday in a public session at Kingston's National Arena.
