The opposition People's National Party (PNP) has reacted to General Secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party Dr. Horace Chang's claims that it gave power to criminals when it failed to support the police.
In a statement released Monday, the PNP described Dr. Chang's statement as a pathetic attempt to find another excuse for his failed performance as Minister of National Security.
The Opposition says the JLP administration's ineffective attempt at militarising policing in Jamaica through the routine use of States of Emergency actually makes a strong case for the advocates of a more balanced approach to public safety.
