Police keeping watch on Maxfield Avenue following deadly shootings

The St. Andrew South Police are maintaining a high presence in the Maxfield Avenue area after three persons were fatally shot and two others hospitalised following attacks by gunmen in the community on Wednesday.
 
The first incident took place on Maxfield Avenue where a man identified as William Walker of a St. Thomas address as well as an unidentified man were shot and killed and two others injured. 
 
Shortly after 8 p.m., the four were at a bar when they were shot by occupants in a car.
 
Mr. Walker and the unidentified man were pronounced dead at hospital and the other two men admitted in stable condition.
 
In the second incident, which occurred in Union Gardens, 44 year old Maurice Wellington, otherwise called 'Short Man', of Daffodil Avenue, Kingston 13 was shot by gunmen.
 
About 8:25 p.m., residents heard explosions. 
 
Mr. Wellington was later found lying on the road with bullet wounds.
 
He was pronounced dead at hospital.
