The St. Catherine North Police are probing the execution-style killing of a couple in Spanish Town, St. Catherine on Sunday.

They have not yet been identified.

It's reported that about 4 a.m. Sunday, residents of 46 Old Harbour Road heard explosions.

About 10 o'clock, the bodies of the victims, with bullet wounds to the head, were found in a house.

Speaking at a People's National Party meeting on Sunday night, Opposition Spokesman on National Security Peter Bunting cited the killing of the couple and again accused the government of failing to implement measures to curb crime despite their promises during the campaign for the 2016 general election.

Cynically, he warned the gathering to be on the lookout for more promises from the Jamaica Labour Party administration now that another election is due.

"I am putting you on notice. Over the next few weeks, you going hear everything weh dem don't touch inna eight years, suddenly, they will be promising you that it will be done shortly," he asserted.
