More than 50 rank and file members and several senior officers have been granted promotions. This paves the way for them to take home improved salaries. Approximately 50 Sergeants have been elevated to the rank of Inspector.
Officer in charge of the VIP Division, Superintendent Barrington 'Rocky' Simpson, is among nine Superintendents elevated to the rank of Senior Superintendent. The others are Dean Taylor, formerly of the Major Investigation Task Force, Millicent Sproul Thomas, Dermorth Lawrence, Anthony Morris and Calbert Edwards and McArthur Sutherland.
Acting Head of the St. Thomas Police Division Deputy Superintendent Charmine Shand, and Merval Smith of CIB headquarters, have also been promoted to the rank of Superintendent.
