Police respond to "security threat" against Prime Minister Holness

The Jamaica Constabulary Force reported on Wednesday evening that it had repelled a "security threat" directed at the private home of Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness.

A large contingent of police personnel was observed in the vicinity of the Prime Minister's St. Andrew residence, and in response to media queries, the JCF issued a statement, explaining that the deployment "was initiated in response to credible intelligence..., indicating a legitimate security threat to the Prime Minister and his household."

"The swift and effective action by our officers successfully repelled this threat, and we continue to maintain a presence at the location in line with security protocols," the JCF said.
