Public safety concerns again in Brown's Town

Concerns are again being raised in Browns Town, St Ann about public safety and public order.

This latest outcry comes after thieves removed four newly installed street lights along Huntley road, heading into the town.

The  vandals climbed the poles and removed both the lights and base.

Councillor Carlton Ricketts of the Dry Harbour Division in the St Ann Municipal Corporation believes the issue highlights the need for more police patrols in the community.

He told Radio Jamaica News that the Huntley main road is widely used by motorists and pedestrians entering the town.

Accordinglyh, he said the theft of the street lights creates an avenue for criminals to target unsuspecting persons, especially students coming from night classes at the nearby community college.
