Mayor of Kingston Delroy Williams
In the wake of last week's fire at Ray Ray market, the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) has announced measures to increase safety and security at the facility.
This follows a meeting Tuesday morning with vendors in the downtown market district, most of whom were from Ray Ray market.
Mayor of Kingston Delroy Williams said the meeting focused on issues such as vending, public cleansing and safety.
"We have committed to fence the area, we are going to do the resurfacing of the ground and we have also committed to put in security cameras," he revealed.
Mr. Williams said the cameras will assist the corporation in its operations to prevent unwanted occurences.
