The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has moved to expand its community engagement under the government's ROOFS programme to help eligible households access approved benefits.

The ministry says, through the outreach initiative dubbed ROAD — Redemption Opportunities and Dialogue, it will strengthen direct engagement with beneficiaries, facilitate the redemption of outstanding grants, address payment and verification concerns, and provide affected households with updated information on the ROOFS programme.

Labour and Social Security Minister Pearnel Charles Jr., says the Ministry will work closely with Members of Parliament, Parish Councillors, community leaders, payment service providers and other Government partners to identify households requiring assistance.

Additionally, Minister Charles says the redemption period for Phase One of ROOFS grants has been extended to December 31.

"And our mission is clear. The mission is to ensure that no eligible Jamaican is overlooked in the recovery process. We remain committed to reaching our people, restoring hope and rebuilding Jamaica together," he pledged.

Minister Charles says payment service providers have been advised of the extension, and the ministry has requested updated records of unredeemed grants to support targeted beneficiary engagement.
