Residents of Iteboreale, St. Mary on Tuesday morning staged a demonstration over continued power cuts which they say have affected the community for several years.
In the most recent incident, the residents say they received electricity on Friday and were again without electricity by Saturday.
The area was without power for almost two weeks following Hurricane Beryl.
They claim a faulty transformer is behind the power cuts and have accused the Jamaica Public Service Company workers of disregarding the issue.
"Dem need fi sort out da transformer right deh suh."
"Yuh see when dem come fi connect di light, dem fi check dem line. Nuh badda come come connect, cause dem wire get slack up. Dem need fi tighten it up and den dem connect," one resident suggested.
They are calling for the light and power company to swiftly address the problem, as they lamented that their items are spoiling due to the lack of power.
"Suh if we nuh get light, we aguh block back eh road again. And we aguh block it wickeder dan dat, fire and sit'n aguh light," a protester warned.
