A teacher at Seaforth High School

Classes at Seaforth High School in St. Thomas have been suspended as teachers stage a sit in.
The teachers are reportedly protesting the non-payment of monies deducted from their salaries to the respective institutions.
According to the teachers, the deductions are owed to banks, insurance entities and other private organisations.
They say the matter has been persisting for several months, and despite promises from the ministry, the monies remain outstanding with no definite date for payments to be made.
A teacher at the institution said the issue needs urgent attention.
She warned that the teachers will continue their sit in on Tuesday "if some light is not shed on how this situation will be dealt with".
