Sharon Marley, daughter of reggae legend Bob Marley, is scheduled to return to the Family Court on Monday to answer to a charge of child cruelty.
Miss Marley, a former member of the Melody Makers, was charged two weeks ago following allegations that she attacked and injured a six year old child who attends a school she operated on Lady Musgrave Road in St Andrew.
It is reported that on October 23, Miss Marley confronted the six-year-old boy, whose mother is employed at the institution.
The child, who is said to be autistic, was playing with a toy while waiting for his mother.
It is alleged that following a commotion, Miss Marley held onto the child and took him into a room.
Minutes later the child was reportedly heard screaming, and when he emerged from the room, he was crying and had bruises and other marks on his body.
The child also reportedly had bite marks on the shoulder and hand.
His mother subsequently filed a report with the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.
Miss Marley went to the police the following day and was later charged.
