Siblings convicted of triple murder get seven years shaved from sentence

By Lorraine Mendez

Siblings Javone and Jamelia Leslie, who in 2019 pleaded guilty to three counts of murder and arson, had just over seven years shaved off the time they will have to serve before being eligible for parole.

The siblings were convicted for the July 2018 killing of 29-year-old Kashief Jackson and her two children and setting fire to their house with the bodies inside.

They were sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole after serving 36 years.

But following an appeal, the court ruled that the convicts should serve 28 years and nine months before being eligible for parole.

Jackson, her 23-month-old son Aviere Williams and her seven-day-old daughter Aranza Williams were killed at their home in Tower Hill in rural St. Andrew.
